The Rick Brunetto Big Band is a 16-piece orchestra that features the music of the 30s and 40s Big Band era on up through the present. The band performs all styles of music from swing to Latin to show tunes and contemporary rock. The band’s vast library of music enables it to appeal to virtually all age groups for listening and dancing.

Highlighting the orchestra is the fine vocal talent of Kristin Sad who brings an enormous range of versatility and experience to the band and is truly among the finest singers in the Central Ohio area.

The band formed by drummer and Columbus music veteran Rick Brunetto as a means of combining the talents of both college students and professionals dedicated to the reservation of the Big Band sound.

In a day and age where small electronic groups have all but replaced 16 piece bands, this group has seemingly achieved the impossible. Sixteen piece bands are virtually unheard of in cocktail lounges, but this band’s unique style has enjoyed enormous success and support from the many people who come every week to listen and dance to the Big Band sound.

"Finding a place to play was difficult at first", Brunetto recalls. "We knocked on many doors, but places were reluctant to take a chance on a band that size" Finally, the 94th Aero Squadron agreed to give it a try. The results were overwhelming. By the third week, the place was packed. The word spread quickly about the big band at the Aero Squadron. Many people remarked how great it was to listen and dance to this wonderful music and the band played to full houses every Sunday. When Montego Bay opened its doors, they too saw the merits of this music and most Tuesday nights had 600 people dancing to
the Rick Brunetto Big Band.

Playing on a regular basis affords the band an opportunity to continually grow musically as new music is constantly added to the library. The band is available to play clubs, private parties, wedding receptions, conventions and all types of functions. Equally comparable to the fine musical sound is the band’s enthusiasm and love for what they do. It is notable that Rick Brunetto frequently closes their performance by saying, "Ladies and gentleman, spread the word...Big Bands are back".
