Harpist Yan Ni

Yan Ni was born in Harbin of the People’s Republic of China. As a pianist, she was a member of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra from 1977-1978. In 1978, she entered the Shenyang Conservatory of Music as a harp major and received her bachelor of music degree in 1983. She was harpist of the China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra of Beijing from 1983-86. In 1986, she and her husband came to the U.S.A. where she was involved in the master of music program at the United States International University of San Diego, California. She received a master of music degree in harp at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1989. Since moving to Columbus, Yan Ni has performed with the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra, appeared with various instrumentalists for chamber performances, and has also had numerous solo appearances for weddings, dinners, receptions, and church services.
